Events Happening This February Weekend

There are a ton of events happening around the West Chester area this weekend. Instead of sitting inside all weekend waiting for the Super Bowl, get out and enjoy the first weekend of February in style!

Winter Series Race

When: Saturday, Feb. 2 at 9:10 a.m.
Where:Athlete’s Closet 11 N. 5 Points Rd. West Chester

Where:Athlete’s Closet 11 N. 5 Points Rd. West Chester
Why Go: This is the third race in the series of four. Free kid’s run at 9:10 AM and the kids will receive ribbons. Races go through the local neighborhood.
Cost: Kids free, Day of Race Adult: $20 with t-shirt and $15 without

Souperbowl 2013

When: Friday, Feb. 1 from 7 – 10 p.m.
Where: Good Will Fire Company 552 E Union St, West Chester
Why Go: Come taste the best soups and breads made by local chefs competing for the People’s Choice Award by category. Watch the viral Ads played during past Super Bowls. Proceeds will benefit the Chester County Food Bank. Westtown Goshen Rotary is sponsoring the event.
Cost: $50

Spoil Yourself Saturday

When: Saturday, Feb. 2 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Where: Waterloo Gardens, 200 N Whitford Rd, Exton
Why Go: Spoil yourself at Waterloo Gardens this Saturday and enjoy samples, raffles and more.
Cost: Free

First Friday

When: Friday, Feb. 1 at 5 p.m.
Where: Downtown West Chester
Why Go: Come downtown and see what new and what’s cool for the New Year. Stores open late offering specials and refreshments. For more information, please visit their website.

The Winter’s Tale

When: Runs from January 31 – March 3
Where: People’s Light and Theatre Company
Why Go: Enjoy this tale of kings and queens, revenge and betrayal, spanning countries, seasons, decades, and generations. Inspired by the ancient pagan festivals, Winter’s Tale will be a viscerally-dynamic event featuring live music and acrobatics. Arrive a half hour early and enjoy warm cider, music and dance.
Cost: $25 – $45

Malvern Retreat House’s ArtShow 2013

When: Wednesday, Jan. 30 to Sunday, Feb. , 11 a.m.-8 p.m. (Sun. Feb. 3 from 11 a.m. till 4 p.m.)
Where: Malvern Retreat House 315 S Warren Ave, Malvern
Why Go: ArtShow2013 is the showcase and sale of over 100 professional artists’ work including paintings, photography, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, and glass. What’s going on this weekend in West Chester?

First Friday Shopping Kick-Off

  • When: Friday, Nov. 2 from 5 – 9 p.m.
  • Where: Downtown West Chester
  • Why Go: Start the shopping season on First Friday. The stores are open late, offering specials and refreshments and lots of great new items for the gift-giving  season. The fun starts at 5pm.
  • Cost: Free

Jazz at the Courthouse

  • When: Friday, Nov. 2 at 6:30 p.m.
  • Where: Chester County Courthouse, the corner of High & Market Streets
  • Why Go: A free jazz concert on the steps of the courthouse.  The Blackbird Society Orchestra will be performing on First Friday.
  • Cost: Free

13th Annual Auction and Award Gala

  • When: Saturday, Nov. 3 from 5:30 – 9:30 p.m.
  • Where: West Chester Area Senior Center
  • Why Go: “A Celebration of West Chester. An All American Town.” A black tie optional dinner with auction and awards. Benefits the West Chester Area Senior Center.
  • Cost: $100

“First Friday” in Downtown West Chester Tonight!

Start your weekend off right this Friday with First Friday when stores are open late and offer specials. Find out what stores are offering at the Shopping Tab or check some out below!

The Annual Chester County Antique Show | March 16th-18th

The 30th Anniversary Chester County Antique Show starts this Friday and runs all weekend long! The show will be held at the beautiful, historic Westtown School. The 2012 theme, “The Art of Chester County”, will feature high quality American and Continental antiques.  The event draws over 2,000 to a collector-friendly atmosphere and wide range of items, from museum-quality furniture to pieces within the reach of the average visitor.
