First Annual Chester County Wingfest

Chester County WingfestMark your calendar for the First Annual Chester County Wingfest happening Sunday October 19, 2014. The contest will directly benefit the Family Service of Chester County, a nonprofit health and human services organization located in West Chester. Visit any of the 13 participating restaurants between 1:00PM–6:00PM on October 19th and place your vote for either “Best Buffalo Wings” or “Best Creative Style Wings.” A generous portion of each voter’s bill will be donated back to the Family Service of Chester County. Voting will be done on your mobile phone through the Chester County Wing Fest’s website on the day of the contest. See more information in this article by West Chester Dish.

Belgium Comes to Iron Hill West Chester

West Chester Restaurant Week Starts Today!

Today, May 9, 2013, marks the first day of the 2013 West Chester Restaurant Week! Our friends at Doc Magrogan’s West Chester have planned a delicious $35 three-course menu featuring citrus poached calamari salad, prosciutto wrapped shrimp, and strawberry and lemon curd napoleon. The Annual West Chester Restaurant Week will host a number of other participating restaurants as well. Each restaurant will offer a special multi-course, fixed-price menu for lunch or dinner and many are doing both. History on Tap Tonight!

Join the Chester County Historical Society tonight for a special evening with the Dill Pickle Old Time Orchestra at The Social Lounge (29 East Gay Street) starting at 6:30pm. You’ll travel back in time as the Dill Pickle band plays some good old-time American fiddle tunes, gospel, tin pan alley, and mountain songs. Hear about some local history from mandolin player and West Chester University history professor Dr. Charles Hardy. Free to enjoy with lots of great food and drink available for purchase. Halloween Parade in Downtown West Chester | October 24th

Enjoy the costumes, the kids, and the fun, all starting at 7pm. Parade gathers on Market Street between Church & Darlington and proceeds on Market and Gay Streets. Marching bands and cheerleading performances are featured. Families and groups are welcome to participate. Groups & Floats are welcome, but must register with the West Chester Parks & Recreation, for more information call 610-436-9010. Ghost Tours of West Chester | Starting this Friday

The Ghost Tours of West Chester begin again for the season this coming Friday, September 28th! They consist of a walking tour with tales of ghosts, folklore and history. Your guide will lead you on a 90-minute walk through the spooky lanes of downtown neighborhoods where you’ll explore the land of the shadow people, learn of lost souls of the Underground Railroad, and hear about the West Chester gallows where horse thieves and murderers were hanged. New stories and tours added for the season.

The Ghost Tours of West Chester start at The Lincoln Room (28 West Market, 610-696-2102). Tours begin at 8:00 pm and doors open at 7:00 pm rain or shine. Courtyard Grill will be open for light sandwiches, snacks and beverages before the tours. Price is $10 per person ages 5 years and up. Reservations required call 610-696-2102.
