The West Chester Railroad Presents Santa’s Express

featured_christmasAll aboard Santa’s Express! Join Santa for a 90-minute journey on the heated West Chester Railroad through the Chester Creek Valley. Santa greets everyone at Market Street Station, then rides along to Glen Mills. Explore the historic Glen Mills Station, where there’s plenty of photo opportunities on Santa’s lap, so remember your cameras. There will also be live music by Greg Wright & Friends. Incase you get hungry along the way the on board snack car offers hot dogs, hot chocolate and various snacks (cash only). Santa’s Express is scheduled for multiple weekends this holiday season including: December 6-7, 13-14, 20-21 @ 11am, 1pm, 3pm and additional 5pm departures on December 13-14, 20-21. Old-Fashioned Christmas Parade Tonight!

The annual Old-Fashioned Christmas parade will be taking place tonight at 7:15pm (rain or shine). More than 30,000 spectators come out to enjoy it and the entire parade route is free and open to the public. Due to its popularity, the downtown will be crowded. It is advisable to come into town early (the streets begin to close in the late afternoon), find parking, and enjoy dining and shopping before the event. 2013 Holiday Home Tour

The WCPL’s annual Holiday Home Tour is right around the corner! The date of the event this year is Saturday, December 7, 2013, 10:00am –  3:00pm. The tour features ten beautiful  homes plus one special stop in the southern section of the borough.

Tickets are on sale now, you can purchase them online by clicking here, or at the library and at Chester County Book Company.  Advance sale ticket prices are $30 per-person; day of price is $40.  All proceeds benefit the West Chester Public Library’s services and programs for the greater West Chester community. Gifted: Art is for Giving

Support the arts this season as you practice the art of thoughtful giving at the annual holiday show at the Art Trust Gallery at Meridian Bank (16 West Market Street). Halloween Parade in Downtown West Chester

Tonight come Downtown for the annual Halloween Parade! Enjoy the costumes, the kids, and the fun starting at 7pm for the West Chester Halloween Parade.  Parade gathers on Market Street between Church & Darlington and continues down Market and up Gay Street. Marching bands and cheerleading performances are featured as well. Families and groups are welcome to participate.
