the_Whip_TavernThe Chester County Historical Society in partnership with the National Iron and Steel Museum invite you to meet America’s first woman industrialist, Rebecca Lukens. In Q and A format, ask Rebecca Lukens about the challenge of being a woman in charge of the Brandywine Ironworks, forerunner to Coatesville’s Lukens Steel, and how she literally influenced the engines of progress. History on Tap at Doc Magrogan’s

Laurie Rofini, Chester County Historical Society, presents History on Tap she explores the life Ann Preston, an abolitionist, advocate for women’s rights and temperance, and one of the first American women to receive a medical degree. History comes alive in the casual atmosphere of Doc Magrogan’s Oyster House of West Chester. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. The program is free and begins at 6:30pm. History on Tap Tonight!

Enjoy Chester County Historical Society’s History on Tap series, which brings history to you in the casual atmosphere of your favorite local bar or restaurant. History on Tap programs are free with lots of great food and drink available for purchase. Tonight, Join Dr. Heather Wholey, Associate Professor of Anthropology at West Chester University, as she describes the life and ways of the native Lenape in the Brandywine Valley through archaeological discoveries. Dr. Wholey, an expert in Eastern Woodland Native American archaeology, will provide evidence and address myths about Native Americans who lived in the region prior to European colonization. This special History on Tap will be held in recognition of Native American Heritage Month. The event will take place tonight at 6:30PM at the Marshalton Inn. For more information click here.
