Halloween Parade in Kennett Square

Halloween-Parade-PosterIf you missed the West Chester Halloween parade last night don’t worry as there is another parade happening this weekend in our neighboring town of Kennett Square! Downtown Kennett Square is looking to be transformed with the festive sights and activities of the fall season. Kennett Square’s Halloween Parade will be on Sunday, October 26 at 3 pm. Organizations and individuals are welcome to participate! WestChesterHalloweenParadeEnjoy the costumes and rest of the fun during the West Chester Halloween Parade, beginning Wednesday, October 22nd at 7:00pm! The parade gathers on Market Street between Church & Darlington and continues down Market Street and up Gay Street. Families and groups are welcome to participate! Tonight come Downtown for the annual Halloween Parade! Enjoy the costumes, the kids, and the fun starting at 7pm for the West Chester Halloween Parade.  Parade gathers on Market Street between Church & Darlington and continues down Market and up Gay Street. Marching bands and cheerleading performances are featured as well. Families and groups are welcome to participate. For more information call the West Chester Parks and Recreation at 610-436-9010.  There will be free parking offered at the Justice Center Garage (Market & New Streets). Hope to see you there!

West Chester Railroad Great Pumpkin Express

Mark your calendars, next weekend take a ride on the West Chester Railroad Haunted Train as the friendly (and only slightly ghoulish) crew gives out treats (and some tricks) to each of the passengers. Everyone is encouraged to dress up in Halloween costumes. It’s not too scary for the little ones; it’s Halloween fun while enjoying the Chester Creek autumn scenery from the comfort of a heated train which departs at 12pm & 2pm.

Also, don’t forget about the Fall Foliage Express ride taking place this Sunday, October 13th. Enjoy a brisk fall afternoon along the Chester Creek Valley as the West Chester Railroad  takes you on a 90-minute journey to the village of Glen Mills and back. The Chadds Ford Great Pumpkin Carve!

This annual tradition began last-night (Thursday, October 25th) and continues tonight, Friday October 25th and Saturday October 27th from 5 to 9 p.m. Last night more than 60 local artists gathered to carve the huge pumpkins. The pumpkins will be lit and displayed tonight (Friday) and Saturday! Come out and enjoy great food provided by Concordville-Chadds Ford Rotary, live music, hayrides and a chance to win a raffle item. Admission is $5 for adults 18 and older; $3 for children ages 7 to 17; ages 6 and under are FREEChadds ford Historical Society members are FREE with membership card.

3rd Annual Pumpkin Carving Contest at Side Bar

Pumpkins at Halloween

Tonight (October 23rd), Grab your pumpkin, roll up your sleeves and get competitive for this great pumpkin carve! Side Bar Restaurant will  have 2 dozen pumpkins on site to carve up! They will also offer the carving utensils for all participants and will award prizes to the most creative, original and worst-ever carvings seen in-house tonight. The 3rd Annual Side Bar Pumpkin carving contest will begin and run straight through Mystery Box Trivia which starts at 9:30… So bring your carving skills and trivia skills!
