West Chester listed among the 10 Best Cities in PA

Movoto Blog, part of a national real estate brokerage firm that “strives to create unique, and most importantly, fun real estate related stories,” has posted what they consider the top 50 communities in Pennsylvania and featured West Chester in the top ten.

“West Chester has all of the ‘good on paper’ qualities to top our list,” said blogger Natalie Grigson. “It has lots of amenities, a median house value 102-percent higher than the rest of the state, and a high school graduation rate that’s 26-percent above average.

“But it is this town’s undeniable, old-world charm that sets it apart from the rest of the state, and really, the entire country. If you are looking for that quintessential, old-world Pennsylvania, grab your horse and buggy and head to West Chester.” Read more about the top ten Pennsylvania Cities at MovotoBlog.

Boxcar Brewing Ride the Rails | October 25, 2013

Ride the Rails is a nostalgic train ride through picturesque Chester County. Come out for an event to remember as you board the 1930’s style train carts and head down the historical West Chester Railroad to Glen Mills picnic park. Boxcar will provide the food (a rockstar spread), beer (all of there best brews), and live music (stellar West Chester talent of course).

Food, beverage and entertainment will be provided at Glen Mills picnic grove. Please dress comfortably for your ride on the old fashion rails and feel free to bring chairs and blankets for the time at the park. Train will return approximately 9pm. Be sure to get your tickets as they sell out quickly! For more information and to order your tickets visit www.boxcarbrewingcompany.com or click here.

West Chester Railroad Great Pumpkin Express

Mark your calendars, next weekend take a ride on the West Chester Railroad Haunted Train as the friendly (and only slightly ghoulish) crew gives out treats (and some tricks) to each of the passengers. Everyone is encouraged to dress up in Halloween costumes. It’s not too scary for the little ones; it’s Halloween fun while enjoying the Chester Creek autumn scenery from the comfort of a heated train which departs at 12pm & 2pm.

Also, don’t forget about the Fall Foliage Express ride taking place this Sunday, October 13th. Enjoy a brisk fall afternoon along the Chester Creek Valley as the West Chester Railroad  takes you on a 90-minute journey to the village of Glen Mills and back. For more information on both events visit West Chester Railroad website, www.westchesterrr.net.
