Gallery Walk in West Chester

This Friday, October 4th, enjoy four art openings and sixteen one-night-only special events throughout downtown from 5:00pm to 9:00pm as the semi-annual Gallery Walk takes place. Featured are many new works from the best artists in the Brandywine Valley. See the participating galleries and special events. Gallery Walk | October 5, 2012

Gallery Walk debuted in downtown West Chester in June 1990 and quickly became an event to look forward to each spring and fall. Now in its 22nd year, the tradition remains an integral part of the downtown scenery. The event, held the first Friday in June and October, provides the perfect opportunity to experience the historic borough’s blend of urban sophistication and small town ambience.

The semi-annual Gallery Walk will be starting at 5pm on October 5th! The event is Presented by the Chamber of Commerce of Greater West Chester and is sponsored by The Hotel Warner and Otto’s BMW. Bam Margera teams up with West Chester artist John Hannafin for exhibit

This Friday from 5 to 9 p.m., the Chester County Historical Society will welcome the West Chester debut of Brandon “Bam” Margera’s artwork. The homegrown star of Jackass fame is teaming up with West Chester artist John Hannafin, a Historical Society regular, for Gallery Walk, a popular, borough event held on the first Fridays of June and October.

Robert Lukens, the Historical Society president, said Hannafin has been renting exhibit space from CCHS for four or five years. This time, Hannafin added Margera and a couple of Margera’s friends including photographers Red Mohawk and Ryan Gee, it is expected to be an eclectic mix. Gallery Walk | June 1st

Shops will be open late and more than a dozen gallery openings and special shows will take place. Go to WestChesterGalleryWalk.com for the map and list of Gallery Previews. Of special interest is the Vintage Garage Sale and En Plein Air, both occuring at the new Chestnut Street Garage — the Vintage Garage Sale on the ground floor and En Plein Air on the rooftop. Across the street is the Chester County Historical Society (225 N High St, 610-692-4800) presenting artist John Hannafin with special guest Bam Margara. The museum is also offering FREE addmission of their current exhibits throughout the day.
