Dance the night away with friends and family at the Uptown! Entertainment Alliance Sock Hop! The event will take place at the Ballroom at the Westside building. Ticket price includes dinner, a DJ rocking the night away with music through the decades so you can dance your shoes off, and entrance into our Sock Competition. The Brandywine Ballet presents the popular fairy tale Beauty and The Beast as a full-length contemporary ballet with upbeat music, inventive costumes, and plenty of energetic dancing. The performance will take place from May 2-4, 2014 at the Emilie K. Asplundh Concert Hall, West Chester University. Since its Russian premiere in 1892, The Nutcracker ballet has become the seasonal favorite for audiences around the world. It is performed by the Brandywine Ballet made up of an outstanding mix of invited professional and local dancers. Performances occur at the Emilie K. Asplundh Concert Hall, West Chester University from December 13th through the 22nd. Production and choreography by Donna Muzio and Nancy Page. Music by Tchaikovsky. Studio180 is organizing a flash mob for downtown West Chester on the evening of Thursday, September 5. The rehearsal will be at Marshall Square park in West Chester on Thursday, August 29 from 6-8pm. This Friday, WCU Live! presents Taiko Drumming and Dance Troupe from Tamagawa University, Japan. Nearly thirty drummers and dancers perform thundering Taiko drumming and Japanese folkloric dance. Performance begins at 7:30pm at Emilie K. Asplundh Concert Hall at West Chester University. General admission: $5. Details at WCU Department of Cultural & Community Affairs.
