Wine Tasting Fundraiser at the Chester County Historical Society

The Interfaith Housing Assistance Corporation of Chester County will be hosting a Wine Tasting Fundraiser at the Chester County Historical Society on Sunday, November 2, from 4:00PM – 7:00PM. Meet the experts in homelessness prevention for single working parents with dependent children, and learn about wines, beers, and some of the best food pairings that Chester County can offer! Some of this year’s contributions include home brewing, organic wines, the Brandywine Wine Trail, local beers, and wines from around the world! Historic Preservation Awards Program Coming this April

WCDF_logoThe West Chester Downtown Foundation is preparing for its annual historic preservation awards program and will start the nomination period on Sunday, April 13, 2014 with a kick-off event at the Chester County Historical Society. Nominations from the community will be accepted until June 13 for projects that reflect outstanding historic preservation practices within the Borough of West Chester. The kick-off event will feature Dr. Jim Jones who will present a lecture entitled Preserving the West Chester Railroad. The event is free and begins at 2pm on April 13, 2014. Laurie Rofini, Chester County Historical Society, presents History on Tap she explores the life Ann Preston, an abolitionist, advocate for women’s rights and temperance, and one of the first American women to receive a medical degree. History comes alive in the casual atmosphere of Doc Magrogan’s Oyster House of West Chester. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. The program is free and begins at 6:30pm.
