Pumpkin Art Carve

pumpkincarveJoin the Chester County Art Associate for an evening of fun and creativity! The event will take place October 29th from 5:00-8:00PM. Family Fun Nite Pumpkin Art Carve has become an annual event, this year Chris McKinney, one of CCAA’s printmaking instructors, will give a demonstration. We will have a haunted house drawing contest, bag toss, pumpkin tic-tac-toe, face-painting, pumpkin painting and pumpkin carving. Apple cider and cookies will be served to ring in the Fall season. Tickets are $10 per person ($7 per person for groups of 5 or more).  For more information on the event visit Chestercountyarts.org.

The Great Pumpkin Carve

pumpkincarveDon’t miss the annual Great Pumpkin Carve taking place October 23, 24, & 25. The event will be held on the grounds of the Chadds Ford Historical Society from 5:00PM-9:00PM. Enjoy three nights of “spook-tacular” fun at this great outdoor event featuring giant pumpkins with over sixty carvers participating, live music, hayrides, food provided by Concordville-Chadds Ford Rotary, and a Haunted Trail that is sure to spook little goblins and ghouls. Brandywine Harvest Market

Brandywine-RiverThe Brandywine Harvest Market will run from September 20th through November 9th, most weekends. Come out to enjoy things from honey and apples to pottery and handcrafted jewelry, regional artisans showcase their crafts in the Brandywine River Museum’s courtyard. Handwoven rugs, dried flowers and wreaths, pottery, quilted items and handcrafted dolls are featured on a rotating basis. The Brandywine River Art Museum Offers Historic Property Tour

Brandywine River Musuem Now through November, The Brandywine River Art Museum is offering a special tour package. The program includes guided visits to both the N.C. Wyeth House and Studio and the Andrew Wyeth Studio and lunch in the Museum Cafe overlooking the scenic Brandywine River. N.C. Wyeth’s America in the Making

Now on exhibit at the Brandywine Conservancy and Museum of Art, N.C. Wyeth’s America in the Making features 12 dramatic paintings, created by the artist in the late 1930s for a popular advertising calendar, and shows Wyeth’s renowned mastery of stirring action and uthentic detail. Props from the artist’s Chadds Ford studio, such as a life mask of Abraham Lincoln, a coonskin cap and a Kentucky rifle, will provide fascinating insight into how Wyeth created these paintings.
