Sneak Peek of the Boxcar Brewpub

Sara Michaels at the Jazz Cocktail Hour

Uptown! Entertainment Alliance presents the Jazz Cocktail Hour, a Thursday evening concert series, with singer Sara Michaels bringing an element of “Sassy Class” as she performs jazz standards in her own captivating style. You’ll hear influences of other great ladies of Jazz including Billie Holiday, Ertha Kitt, and Lena Horne. Unionville High School Art Gala

The 39th annual Unionville High School Art Gala will showcase local celebrated working artists, UHS alumni and current UHS Students along with live music and fabulous food. The Art Gala is a highly regarded event that raises money for educational projects and programs. Thirty percent of all artist sales go to support educational programs and projects at Unionville High School. The Art Gala will begin on Friday, November 7th from 3pm – 9pm and continue Saturday, November 8th from 10 am – 3pm; The much anticipated silent auction begins Friday and ends Saturday at 2pm sharp! For updates and further information make sure to follow the event page on Facebook.

West Chester’s Comprehensive Plan Open House

The Borough of West Chester’s Comprehensive Plan Task Force invites the public to its open house at the Melton Center, located on East Market Street just past Adams Street. Learn about the planning, growth, development issues and other challenges facing West Chester. The public will be able to provide written and verbal feedback on a series of comprehensive planning issues at information stations. The open house will be held on Monday, November 10, 2014 at 4:30pm and concludes at 8:00pm. A formal presentation occurs at 5pm and 6pm. It will include discussion about the status of the Task Force’s work, the issues facing the Borough, and the open house’s logistics. Jazz Cocktail Hour with Terry Klinefelter

Entertainment Alliance presents the Jazz Cocktail Hour, a Thursday evening concert series, with recording artist and West Chester University professor Terry Klinefelter; a versatile performer who is at home both in jazz clubs or the classical concert stage. She was described by the Philadelphia Inquirer as “on the cosmic cusp where Mozart might meet Mingus.” Her 2013 release, Zingaro, features original jazz compositions and standards, as well as several new songs based on the works of renowned poet Dana Gioia. The event will take place on Thursday, October 30, from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at the Knights of Columbus Building.

Dracula Performed By Brandywine Ballet Company

Beginning this weekend, October 24-26, Bram Stoker’s famous DRACULA is set to be performed by the Brandywine Ballet Company. It’s the story of a forbidden Victorian romance between beautiful Mina and the beguiling Count Dracula set amidst eerily lit castles and sun-drenched terraces. The tragic story unfolds with impeccable soloing, sensual pas de deux, and exhilarating ensemble dancing.
