Beginning this weekend, local wineries of the Brandywine Valley Wine Trail will be holding their annual event, Barrels on the Brandywine, each Saturday and Sunday in March. Barrels on the Brandywine offers tastes of the newest vintages, developing from the 2013 grape harvest. Local winegrowers and vintners will open their cellars and tasting rooms for barrel tastings, cellar tours, music, food, and other special events. Wine Trail Passports are required to attend this event. Visitors may purchase Passports ($25 each) online at http://www.bvwinetrail.com in advance or from any member winery either in advance or at the first winery visited during the event. Passports provide a wine tasting at each member winery and a commemorative wine glass. Visit all six wineries and have a chance to win a Brandywine Food & Wine Festival prize pack!
