West Chester Restaurants donate $25,000 to Local Programs

I was recently browsing over the Downtownwestchester.com website when I came across this article that talks about how many local West Chester restaurants gave back to our community! Read the full article below and make sure to visit http://www.downtownwestchester.com for other great articles.

The Downtown West Chester restaurant community joined together and raised $25,000 for the West Chester Fire Department and YPAL, a program of the YMCA of the Brandywine Valley. The funds were raised during the Bartenders Ball, and annual event that takes place at the Chester County Historical Society.

Linda Herron, representing the restaurant community, presented a check for $23,500 to Chief Dale McClure to support the efforts of the West Chester Fire Department. It consists of three companies: First West Chester Fire Company;Good Will Fire Company; and Fame Fire Company. The companies are one-hundred percent volunteer and date back to 1799. A check for $1,500 was also presented to the YMCA PAL program which focuses on improving the lives and futures of children in need by providing safe, supervised quality care for ages 5 to 15.
