A man armed with a gun and claiming he planted a bomb robbed the Walgreens on Wilmington-West Chester Pike Tuesday night. The suspect walked into the store around 7:10 p.m., walked up to the pharmacy counter and handed the clerk a note stating he had planted a bomb about a half mile away that would go off in 30 seconds, according to state police. As he stood at the counter, the suspect flashed a black handgun that he had tucked into the waistband of his pants.
The clerk handed the suspect four bottles of Oxycodone and the suspect fled in an unknown direction. The suspect has two distinctive tattoos on his left hand – the word “LOVE” on his fingers with a tattoo of a Taurus symbol above. The clerk also described the suspect as a white male, 30-45-years-old; about 6 feet tall with a thin build and full beard and mustache. He had crooked, possibly missing, bottom teeth. Anyone who has information about the robber is urged to contact Pennsylvania State Police at 484-840-1000.
